SPM has now added Stainless Steel to its product catalogue
Stainless Steel is used in an array of applications from Construction and Automotive to Kitchenware. Its key feature is that it does not rust and as such offers excellent corrosion resistance due to its unique chemistry. Recently added to our product range we are supplying this material into the construction sector in the main.

What makes SPM different
Another product we can offer to our customers that sets us apart from other Steel Service Centres.
What is Stainless Steel?
Stainless Steel contains at least 10.5% chromium, usually nickel, and may also contain other elements, such as carbon, to obtain the desired properties. Stainless steel's resistance to corrosion results from the chromium, which forms a passive film that can protect the material and self-heal in the presence of oxygen.
The main requirement for stainless steels is that they are corrosion resistant for a specified application or environment. The selection of a particular "type" and "grade" of stainless steel must initially meet the corrosion resistance requirements. Additional mechanical or physical properties may also need to be considered to achieve the overall service performance requirements.
